What You Should Know
In the Prime Marketplace you will find the goods and services you need for your work and research at Princeton University. The Prime Marketplace provides a familiar online shopping experience and negotiated pricing from Princeton’s preferred suppliers.
You can search for items by keyword or item number, or you can punch out to one of our supplier websites. When you find the item you want, put it in your shopping cart. If you can’t find what you need, you can make a special request within the Marketplace which routes to someone who will source the item or service for you.
Use the Prime Marketplace to shop for Hosted Catalog Items, Non-Catalog Items, and Punchout Catalog Items.
A hosted catalog is an electronic form of a supplier’s printed catalog. Princeton supplier hosted catalogs in the Prime Marketplace provide information for the items they sell as well as University-negotiated pricing.
When you can’t find a needed item in the Marketplace, you may place a special request for the item within the Marketplace environment. The special request for this non-catalog item should be as specific as possible, including pricing, if known.
These catalogs are actually on the supplier’s websites. From the Marketplace, Shoppers "punch out” of the Marketplace to the supplier website in order to view the catalog. Like hosted catalog items, pricing is University negotiated.
