If you are a new or rehired benefit eligible employee and did not elect to contribute or opt out of the retirement savings plan, you are automatically enrolled at 5% of your base salary.
If you do not want to contribute, it is imperative that you “stop voluntary contributions" or, contributions will continue to be taken. You can start, stop, increase, or decrease your contributions at any time in any of the following ways:
- Visit TIAA.org/Princeton. Log in or select Enroll or Update and follow the prompts.
- Call TIAA at (800) 842-2252.
- Log in to Princeton University HR Self Service. Easily, securely, and directly access your TIAA account. Click the Benefit Details tile, then click the Manage Retirement Savings tile.
If you are within 90 days of your first contribution and you would like a refund of your retirement savings plan contribution, you can call TIAA at 1-800-842-2252 and request a permissible withdrawal of your contributions. Refunds outside of 90 days of your first contribution are not permitted.
