New Employee Training

Welcome to Princeton! Throughout this website, you will find useful information to help you navigate the financial aspects of your role. For a comprehensive look at how Finance & Treasury (F&T) works at Princeton, we offer an “Introduction to Finance & Treasury at Princeton for New Hires” session. For more specific details on each financial topic, we recommend that you visit the dedicated training section of this website, as well as sign up for the General Ledger newsletter.

Below you will find information to help you get started in your financial role:

Chart of Accounts (also called “COA” or “chart”)

The COA is the backbone of every financial transaction at Princeton. These transactions are created in our financial systems and identify all transactions in financial terms.  It is important to understand how the COA is used and works. To learn more about the Chart, please attend the Chart of Accounts Overview course or view this 10-minute ChartField Refresher Course Video.
