The MPP allows students to spread the total cost of undergraduate tuition and eligible charges, less any scholarship and loans, over the term in equal installments.  The plan is interest free, with an enrollment fee of $40 per term.

Students can enroll for the annual 10-month MPP (5 repayments in each term) starting August 1, and no later than 8/24.  If you enroll after 8/24, your fall term repayment months will be reduced to coincide with the remaining months in the term. The fall annual enrollment option terminates on 10/24. Students enrolling during the fall term will automatically be enrolled in the 5-month spring plan. If you did not enroll during the fall term you can still elect to enroll for the spring term.  Enrollment for the spring starts on 1/2 and extends to 3/24.

From the main Account page on Student Financials, select the enrollment button under Payment Plan.  The MPP enrollment window will default to your maximum eligible dollar amount but can be adjusted to reflect your preference.  Once you confirm your enrollment, the “Monthly Payment Plan Credit” for the term along with the corresponding “Monthly Payment Charges” will appear in the Charges & Credits section of your Account.  Each “Monthly Payment Charge” will be tagged with a due date. The Amount Due displayed on your student account will reflect the installment due for the current month and your Account Balance will reflect both the current and future installments for the term.

Only students are eligible to complete the enrollment process, and only during open enrollment periods.  During open enrollment periods, instruct your student to enroll in an MPP and then select you as a Delegate (from left menu).  Delegation will allow you to view their student account and make monthly e-payments. 

Tuition, Room and/or Meal Plan contracts, Class Dues, Activity Fee, and optional Student Health Plan are eligible charges.  Your eligible dollar amount will be reduced by any Princeton or external scholarships or loans on your account.

In the Charges & Credits section, click the microscope icon next to “Monthly Payment Plan Credit”.  A pop-up window will display the charges moved to your MPP.

There are several reasons this can happen: (1) you are not an active undergraduate student, (2) you are trying to enroll outside of the open enrollment period, or (2) you have no unpaid eligible charges on your account.

Yes.  Future installments will automatically be adjusted to consider changes to your financial aid or eligible charges. 

The overpayment will be applied to future installments.  Your MPP monthly amounts will not be adjusted. 

No action is required.  If you enrolled in the fall, you will be automatically enrolled in the spring plan.

A student can request their MPP be cancelled by emailing [email protected].  Note that when cancelled, the full amount of the plan will be due.

There is a $40 application fee charged for each term.  There is no interest charged.  If, however, your MPP is cancelled due to non-payment, there may be a late fee charged to balances past due on your student account.

Yes.  If you are not receiving any financial aid through Princeton, you can complete the Non-Aid Scholarship Form at the start of each academic year to have any external scholarships credited to your student account.  From TigerHub, select the Student Financial Center button.  The link to the Non-Aid Scholarship Form is found on the main account page.   Once the form has been submitted, the full amount of your scholarship will then be split in half and applied to each term - 50% in the fall and 50% in the spring.

Enrollment certification for this purpose can be completed by a Student Account Representative.  If possible, email an editable/fillable pdf version of the form to Student Accounts at [email protected] and include where to email back the completed form.  Mailed forms will be accepted but will take longer to process.  The enrollment certification is not required for the student to complete the Non-Aid Scholarship Form, which allows the credit to be applied to the student account now, in advance of receiving the payment from the sponsor.

No.  Student Accounts will send a payment reminder notification to the sponsor.  If the sponsor does not remit, we will notify you and suggest you reach out at that time.  Any unpaid pledges will be canceled in full and the resulting balance will be immediately due by the student.

The Princeton Tuition Grant is not considered Princeton financial aid.  If these are the only funds you are receiving from Princeton (no financial aid), complete the Non-Aid Scholarship Form to ensure the credit appears on your account while the administration of the grant is being processed.  Parents are also reminded to complete all forms required by Human Resources even if your child is attending Princeton.

If you already completed a Non-Aid Scholarship form, mail the check to the Student Accounts Office.  There is no need to endorse it.  If you have not completed a Non-Scholarship form and are not receiving any financial aid from Princeton, you can cash the check and pay your account directly. If you are receiving financial aid from Princeton, please contact the Financial Aid Office at [email protected] for instructions.

Non-aid students should complete the Non-Aid Scholarship form to get the anticipated credit applied to their account in advance of the sponsor payment.  From TigerHub, select the Student Financial Center button.  The link to the Non-Aid Scholarship form is found on the main account page.  Once the form is processed, the anticipated credit will be applied to your account and the financial Hold will be removed.

Students are required to complete a new form at the start of each academic year.

The pledged amount is divided evenly between the fall and spring term.  If your award amount has special term requirements, please instruct the sponsor to email the Student Accounts Office at [email protected] with any requirements for exceptional processing.

The form require internal review before the credit is applied to your account.  Please check your student account in two-three business days after submission.  If for any reason your form is not accepted, a Student Accounts Representative will contact you.

From the My Financials tile on TigerHub, click on the Student Financials button to view your student account main page.  Your student account balance should display a negative (-) number which represents the refund amount that may be available at this time.  Click the “Refund” button in the left menu.  You can request that all or part of your credit balance be sent to you or to one of the payees listed in the payee drop down (parent, eating club, etc.).

Refunds are available to active students after the start of classes for the term.

No, only students can request a refund from their account.  However, from the Refund page, students can request that all or part of their credit balance be refund to a designated parent on their account.  In most cases, a check will be mailed to the parent’s address on record.

Yes, you can direct all or part of your credit balance to your eating club or co-op.

The credit balance will remain on your account and may be used to offset future charges.  If the credit remains after you graduate, a refund will be processed by Student Accounts.

No.  In order to expedite student refunds, the requests are immediately processed by our system.  However, once the funds are deposited in your bank account, you can make a payment back to your student account for all or any part of the refunded amount.

There are exceptional cases where your request will be delayed and requires a review by Student Accounts.  In those cases, you will be notified if there are any issues with processing your request.

If you have enrolled in direct deposit from the Payroll site, your request will be deposited to that same US bank account.  If you are not enrolled and have a US bank account, we encourage to enroll before making your request by clicking the Direct Deposit link on the student account main page, or from the Payroll link on TigerHub.  If you enrolled in the past, please verify that your banking information is current prior to requesting your refund. If you are not enrolled in direct deposit or unable to enroll, a check will be mailed to your permanent address on record and will take several days to process.

If you have exhausted the options suggested on our website, please contact the Financial Service Center at [email protected] to discuss wire payment options.  Alternatively, you can leave the credit on your account to be applied to future charges or returned to you once you return to campus. 

No. While Princeton’s eating clubs have a long historical association with the University, the eating clubs are private organizations, independently owned and operated. Princeton does not bill for your eating club and the charge will not appear on your student account. The eating club will bill you directly.

While the financial aid award considers all aspects of the student’s budget, the total amount of the award is first applied to tuition and then to any other Princeton fees (room, board, health plan, activity fee, etc.) on your student account.  For most juniors and seniors receiving financial aid, the grant awarded for eating clubs will reduce the amount owed to the University, freeing up the parental contribution to go toward eating club costs directly. There will be no excess grant funds to transfer to the club. For students with high financial need, there may be available grant funds to transfer to the club.

After the start of classes for the term, you can transfer any excess credit (reflected as a negative number on your student account), from your student account to your eating club. Select the Refund button on the left menu of your account to initiate the transfer.  The amount you authorize for transfer to the club will be sent electronically and no additional action is required. Note that prior to the start of classes, the Refund page will show “$0” (zero dollars) as available for transferring or refunding to you.  The available dollar amount will populate after the start of classes.

No. All financial aid awards are disbursed directly to your student account and used first to offset all University tuition and fees. If there are excess funds on your student account after all University charges are satisfied, you can transfer some or all of the excess funds to the eating club after the start of classes by clicking the Refund button from the left menu.

No. The eating clubs are aware of the restriction in transferring funds. We suggest you work with them directly regarding an extension.

While excess funds on your student account can be transferred to the club we do not encourage this and you should remit your payment directly to the club.  The eating clubs are private organizations and separate from your obligation to Princeton. Note that all funds remitted directly to Princeton will first be applied to your student account bill regardless of the intent of your payment.
